Bake Sale update: We are taking the Summer off. We will let you know when we will start up again, probably Oct. Thanks for your Support. Special Thanks to Kathy Bustos, Lela Remiijo and Rose Chavez for handling the sales as well as making the phone calls. Thanks Ladies…..

Our raffle in May was a huge success thanks to our members who bought and sold tickets. Winners of the Prizes were: Ladies Diamond Necklace, - Rose Mary Chavez; 36 Inch Flat Screen TV - Jan Osburg

Another event that was a success because of Volunteers was the luncheon on Memorial Day. Thanks to all who brought food and to the ladies that called, and coordinated this event: Kathi Bustos, Giovanna Demiranda, Esther Plaza, Lela Remijjo, Special Thanks to Lela Gudino who helped decorate & serve (not currently a member).Servers : Esther Palma, Mary Ruth, Lela Gudino, Lela Remiijo. Thanks for the Men’s Chapter for supplying the chichen, John Miranda special 3 ft sandwich, Pizzas, just a name a few. Other food donations that day besides the ladies listed above. Pam & John Miller, Mary Louise Plaza, Carolos Puentes, John & Vicky Miranda, Mary Cabral .

Also if you haven’t noticed the flag pole area, Sasha Chavez, and her class from Marrs Magnet school has been working on a project and they along with other volunteers have been cleaning up around the building. This class has also made a DVD on the history of The American GI Forum and it’s members. I know I don’t have a complete list but I know special Thanks to Chuck Garcia for his truck that hauled all of the rocks, bushes and not needed items to the dump. THANKS CHUCK!

Thanks to Sylvia Silva for handing the scheduling of the bands, DJ’s and other happening at the forum. Last but not least, Thanks to all of the officers and Ladies that attend our meetings faithfully each month. All Lady Members are welcome, please consider joining us. Hope to see you at our Next Meeting on Monday, Sept 18,6 p.m. Please be prompt.

There are plans in motion for an Octoberfest and membership picnic. for the first weekend in Oct. keep this date open so we can get together and catch up with one another.
